Borrow from another library

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

If an item you’re looking for is not owned by the Center Point Public Library and we are unable to offer an adequate substitution, we may be able to borrow the material from another library through a service called InterLibrary Loan (ILL). Through ILL it is possible for you to obtain books, movies, articles and other items. Interlibrary loans are available to all of our patrons with a current library card.  You must have a valid drivers license or ID to request an interlibrary loan:

  • A form is available at the library for your requests.
  • There is no charge for interlibrary loans.
  • Loan periods are set by the lending library.  If you need an item for more than the standard lending time, please include this information in your request.
  • If you request an item and do not pick it up you will be responsible for the shipping charges.
  • Please be aware it usually takes between 4 to 9 days for a requested item to arrive, and you can submit no more than 3 requests at a time.

You can search the Silo locator catalog yourself at http://z3950.silo.lib.ia.us/cgi-bin/zform.CGI?SILO.
