About the Staff
Meet the Staff of the Center Point Public Library
Janine Walters, the director of the Center Point Public Library, has been with the library in various capacities for over 12 years, first as a volunteer processing books and then bringing technology to the library as we upgraded to an automated circulation system.
Janine joined the library staff in 2003 as a part time employee to maintain the computer system and enter new materials. She brings a wealth of experience in many different areas. Janine’s recent projects at the library have been working to upgrade our automated circulation system, which will has brought our card catalog online and user friendly for our patrons. She has also led the project with the help of our Friends of the Library group to put new bar coded, patron designed, library cards into the hands of our patrons. Janine also continues to order and search for great deals on materials to add to the library’s collection as well as managing the staff and budget.
Janine and her husband have 3 children and live in Center Point. In her spare time away from the library Janine enjoys, gardening, beading , reading, being with her family and talking her orchids into blooming.
Diane Coberly is the children’s librarian and is in charge of much of the programming at the Center Point Public Library, including the summer reading program. She has been with the library since 2008 and is now a certified Level 1 Librarian. Diane also enters the new materials into the operating system and loves getting that “first look” at everything new.
Diane and her husband Greg live outside of Center Point, enjoying farm life along with the chickens, dwarf bunnies, cats and dogs. When not at the library, Diane enjoys spending time with Greg, their 3 daughters and their families, gardening, reading, making jewelry and being outside.
Cathey Frith started working at the library October 25, 2010. She worked in the accounting department at Rockwell Collins for 36+ years starting when she was 18 years old and retiring in April 2006. Since she loves to read, the library is a perfect fit for her. She loves being around people. She also enjoys being around family and friends. Cathey and her husband live in Walker. They are Sacristans at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and very involved with the church. They have two children (a daughter and a son, both married), two grandsons, and a granddaughter.
